What If Intel shared ideas and prototypes early in the development cycle?
What would be the risks? What would be the rewards? Barriers? Enablers?
I’ve been talking with a few of my peers here in the Software Solutions Groups about some of the amazing software tools, ideas and product that we are working on right now. As an employee that works to market tools like the Web 2.0 TDK and the Laptop Gaming TDK, I am exposed to many management review meetings and proof of concept demonstrations. Intel has some of the brightest minds from all over the word working together to build the building blocks for next generation technology. (Wow does that sounds a little arrogant…but I’ve met them, they are really smart). And like some of our well known partners (☺) we do it with very little interaction with the outside developer community.
Don’t get me wrong we have very sophisticated marketers that can study and statistically plot how we make money in any technical endeavor. I’ve participated in a few focus groups and beta test programs. We do listen to the feedback and work to incorporate the input with the potential opportunity. But is that enough?
What would you want to see and learn about if you could get a preview of what we are building?
Would it be worth your time to get an early preview of an idea that might not become a product?
Would you be willing to invest your time to learn and try out some of our ideas?
Is sharing our wild hair ideas and prototypes a no brainer or a waste of our customer’s time?
